Common misconception
Spanish days of the week start with a capital letter as in English.
Spanish does not capitalise the days of the week.
Teacher tip
The teacher might want to start each day by asking '¿Qué día es hoy?' and pupils reply 'Hoy es ...' or ' Es ...'. Another possibility is to have a classroom calendar where students can mark the current day in Spanish each morning.
