After spending some time looking at Abrahamic traditions, pupils now spend a unit beginning to explore Hindu Dharma. This worldview is chosen as it is the oldest in the world. Stories are used as a way of emebedding some complex ideas. The concept of dharma will be built upon in Year 4 and 6. Worldviews such as Sikhi will be shown to have grown out of the Hindu Dharma.
Prior knowledge requirements
- Pupils will have looked at stories from Abrahamic traditions to look at deeper meanings.
- Pupils will know that Hindus worship at home and in the Mandir.
- Pupils may have an understanding of the festivals celebrated in Hindu Dharma especially Diwali and Holi.
