Description

In this unit pupils will examine the place of religion in the UK today. Beginning with an understanding of the census data they will make comparisons globally. From this they will drill down to their own locality to compile a report noting trends and analysing similarities and differences to the UK.

This unit marks the culmination of pupils learning in primary school. They will utilise tools they have learnt about from social science such as analysing data. From this they will reach an understanding of the place of religion and belief in the UK, as well as addressing misconceptions about the place of religion globally. A focus on their locality will enable them to compile a report comparing where they live to the national picture.
