Description

In this unit pupils will learn the story of the Passion narratives of the death and resurrection of Jesus. From a theological study of this story, the will investigate different Christian interpretations of the significance of this event. Case studies will allow them to see diversity.

The events of Holy week are critical to understanding the Christian worldview. This unit is placed here after study of Passover so that pupils can see how, for Christians, the death and resurrection of Jesus links to ideas of covenant. Pupils have already analysed some key Biblical stories and have a chance to see how there are differences within Biblical accounts which builds up their scriptural understanding.
