Description

In this unit pupils will investigtate the concept of covenant through a depth study of Pesach (Passover). They will revisit the story of Abraham before learning the Exodus narrative. They will how Pesach is the most significant Jewish festival and what has changed and what has stayed the same.

Pupils have built up an understanding of Judaism through learning about Shabbat, synagogues and creation. This unit allows them a chance to deepen their understanding and also make strong links to the Year 2 unit on covenant. This is a key concept in Judaism and the story of Exodus is a central story that will be revisited in the curriculum. A depth study of Pesach builds on their work in the previous unit looking at change and continuity in festivals.
