Description

In this unit pupils will focus on four key stories from the Gospels where Jesus directly challenged his society. They will see how his questioning of wealth and religious observance caused opposition at the time. They will investigate how these ideas influence Christian living today.

in Year 1 pupils learnt about the idea of Jesus as the son of God for Christians. In Year 3 they learnt about the events of Holy week deepened their concept of incarnation. In this unit they are ready to begin to analyse the teachings of Jesus that have consistently challenged Christians for centuries. They will build up important contextual knowledge that Jesus was a Jew in a Jewish world. They will also see how, for many Christians, these teachings have huge relevance in todays world.

  2. Jesus and the Rich Young Ruler
  3. Jesus and the religious zealots
