Common misconception
All agent nouns are formed by adding either -eur or -ateur to the stem of the verb.
Most agent nouns follow this rule but there are exceptions, for example 'éduquer' - 'to educate', becomes 'éducateur' - 'educator'. A stem change is needed here.
Teacher tip
