Temperate rainforest - Temperate rainforests occur in parts of the world where the climate is mild and there are high levels of rainfall.
Common misconception
Pupils think that all people living in the Amazon rainforest live in small, isolated settlements.
Use the lesson content to point out that most people in the Amazon rainforest live in a few cities such as Manaus in Brazil.
