Common misconception
'Mi' and 'tu' changes according to whether the noun is feminine or masculine.
In Spanish, the possessive adjectives do not change according to whether the noun is feminine or masculine. They stay the same.
Teacher tip
To practise 'mi' and 'tu' further, the teacher might want to ask pupils to describe what belongings they have and to compare their colour and shape with their partner. 'Mi bolígrafo es negro.' 'Tu estuche está en tu mochila.'
