Description

This unit explores how to respect people in diverse relationships by examining the Equality Act 2010, the experiences of LGBT people in modern Britain, and the journey to marriage equality.

As Year 9 pupils develop a more sophisticated understanding of society and relationships, they learn about legal protections for partnerships and the progress towards LGBT equality. This unit builds on previous learning about respect and communities by examining sexual orientation as a protected characteristic under the Equality Act 2010.
