Description

This unit teaches young adults how to navigate the healthcare system. Pupils learn to access GP and dental services, seek mental health support, understand sexual health and family planning clinics, and utilise drop-in centres and online healthcare services.

As Year 11 pupils approach adulthood and will soon be responsible for managing their own healthcare independently, they require an understanding of how to navigate the healthcare system. This unit provides practical knowledge about accessing GPs, dentists, mental health services, sexual health clinics and online healthcare resources. At this transition stage, pupils must understand how to seek appropriate support for different health concerns, use services confidently, and take responsibility for maintaining their health.
