Description

This unit explores the management of separation, change, and loss in relationships. Pupils learn to understand the impact of relationship breakdowns, cope with death and bereavement and access appropriate support during difficult transitions.

As Year 10 pupils mature, they are more likely to encounter separation, loss and bereavement directly or indirectly. This unit provides essential knowledge about grief processes, emotional responses to loss, and healthy coping strategies. At this developmental stage, pupils can understand that difficult emotions are normal responses to change and loss, empowering them to seek appropriate support and develop resilience during life's inevitable transitions as they approach adulthood.
