Description

This unit teaches self-monitoring and health awareness. Pupils learn to recognise signs of health problems, understand immunisation and antimicrobial resistance, maintain intimate health and hygiene, practise sun safety, and follow water safety protocols confidently.

As Year 10 pupils mature, they require practical skills to monitor their bodies and recognise when professional help is needed. This unit provides essential knowledge about self-examination, immunisation, intimate health care and safety practices. At this stage, pupils can understand proactive health monitoring, empowering them to identify concerns early, make informed healthcare decisions, and maintain healthy practices that protect them in various environments as they approach adulthood and independence.
