  • Online safety

Description

This unit examines the impact of social media on mental health and relationships. Pupils explore healthy internet use, understand the effects on wellbeing, examine online communities and their differences, and develop strategies for managing conflict and assessing the impact of social media.

As Year 10 pupils are likely to become increasingly independent online, they need a strong understanding of the internet's impact on their mental health, relationships, and self-image. This unit builds on previous online safety learning by examining how social media affects wellbeing, fuels conflict and influences identity. At this stage, pupils can critically evaluate their online habits, recognise unhealthy patterns such as obsessive comparison, and develop balanced digital practices that support their mental health.
