Description

This unit explores parenting and child development. Pupils learn characteristics of effective parenting, understand child development stages, and identify support services available for parents and carers.

As Year 11 pupils approach adulthood and consider future life choices, they are required to have an understanding of effective parenting and child development. This unit provides essential knowledge about parental responsibilities and the development of early childhood. At this stage, pupils can appreciate the complexities of raising children, recognise the importance of the early years of a child's life and understand the support available to parents.
