Description

This unit explores how to respect people of different faiths by examining the role of faith in communities and its influence on culture in modern Britain. Pupils learn to challenge prejudice, promote inclusivity, demonstrate kindness and stay safe in community spaces.

This unit deepens Year 8 pupils' understanding of diversity by focusing on faith and religion, key protected characteristics under the Equality Act 2010. Building on Year 7 learning about respect and inclusion, pupils develop more sophisticated understanding of prejudice and discrimination based on religion or belief.
