Description

This unit explores fluctuating mental health across the lifespan. Pupils learn how mental health changes, understand impacts of poor mental health, examine biological influences including hormones and sleep, and know how to access appropriate support.

As Year 11 pupils mature, they require an understanding of how mental health fluctuates across the lifespan. This unit provides knowledge about biological influences on mental health, impacts of poor mental health, and accessing appropriate adult support services. At this important stage, pupils can understand that mental health changes are normal whilst recognising when professional help is needed, empowering them to manage stress, seek support proactively, and develop resilience.
