Description

This unit explores mental health conditions including stress, anxiety and depression. Pupils learn to recognise symptoms, distinguish normal worries from mental health conditions, understand treatment options, and know how to access professional support confidently.

Year 10 pupils require an understanding of mental health conditions, such as stress and depression. This unit provides essential knowledge to distinguish typical emotional responses from those that require professional support. At this stage, pupils can understand mental health conditions factually and sensitively, reducing stigma whilst recognising when help is needed. This allows pupils to seek support and assist their peers who are experiencing difficulties.
