Description

This unit explores the internet's impact on wellbeing, relationships and opportunities. Pupils critically evaluate online influences, understand risks and benefits of online relationships, learn to seek reliable support, protect personal data, and navigate digital tools for work and education.

As Year 10 pupils may increasingly rely on the internet for education, socialising, and personal interests, they require a strong understanding of its impact on their wellbeing. This unit equips students with critical evaluation skills to assess online influences, understand data privacy, distinguish between reliable and unreliable online support, and utilise digital tools effectively. At this stage, pupils can analyse the internet's role holistically, supporting them to make the most of the benefits whilst limiting the risks as they prepare for their futures in an increasingly digital world.
