In this unit, pupils extend their narrative and descriptive competence with the introduction of comparative adjectives and adverbs. Previous units have consolidated adjective agreement and placement and adverb placement rules. This unit allows pupils to expand their use of adjectives and adverbs in richer communicative structures in the context of experiences and family life.

In this unit, pupils extend their knowledge of feminine adjective agreement before then learning the comparative forms of adjectives and adverbs and exploring these in comparative structures 'plus...que', 'moins...que' and 'aussi...que. Pupils learn the SSCs om,on and um,un before a vowel.
