Vocabulary and transcripts for this lessons

      Key learning points

      1. Adverbs can sometimes be created from adjectives, and nouns and adjectives can sometimes be created from verb stems.
      2. [i] is pronounced as in 'midi', [on] is pronounced as in 'non !' and [tion] is pronounced as in 'attention !'.
      3. Nouns can sometimes be created by adding -ion or -ation to the verb stem, e.g. 'manifester' - 'manifestation'.

      Keywords

      • Verb stem - part of the verb that appears in all forms

      Common misconception

Some nouns ending in -ion or -ation are masculine.

Every noun ending in -ion and -ation is feminine. There are no exceptions.
