Description

This unit will help pupils understand how important school is to their happiness. Pupils will develop an understanding of how to interact kindly with others and how to seek support if they feel uncomfortable about the actions of other pupils or need help.

Pupils will already understand that being kind to others is important. This unit builds upon this, helping pupils to expand their understanding of kindness and start to think in more detail about the expectations they should have for their own and other pupils' behaviour. Pupils learn about courtesy, manners, and respect, developing their ability to interact positively within the school community. This foundation is essential as pupils navigate increasing social interactions in Year 1 and begin to understand themselves as part of a community.
