Description

This unit discusses understanding that their body belongs to them, the private parts of our bodies, the difference between safe surprises and unsafe secrets, and respecting other people's bodies and boundaries. Pupils learn when to speak to a trusted adult.

This unit builds on their Year 1 learning about feeling safe and extends it to understanding the difference between safe surprises and unsafe secrets. Pupils learn that some secrets should never be kept, particularly those involving their body or that make them feel worried or uncomfortable. Pupils develop skills to recognise inappropriate contact and understand that their body belongs to them.
