  • Online safety

Description

This unit covers understanding who people on the internet are, the risks of sharing photos and videos online, making safe decisions about online activities and communication, and knowing when to talk to trusted adults about online interactions.

In Year 2, pupils may begin to explore social interactions online through games, messaging, and video calls. This unit builds on their Year 1 online safety learning and extends it to evaluating relationships and communication online. It is timely as it helps pupils identify safe online behaviours, understand that not everyone online is who they claim to be, and recognise the importance of only interacting with people they know in real life. By learning these concepts now, pupils develop foundational online safety skills and critical thinking about digital relationships.
