Description

This unit will develop skills in isolation and in combination with other techniques as part of a sequence of movements. To demonstrate control, aesthetics and fluency pupils will analyse and provide feedback to their peers. Pupils will also learn the basics about the axes of rotation.

Pupils will already have developed their balance, core stability, body tension and basic awareness of flight through gymnastics and dance will have also contributed to aesthetic awareness and routine creation. Pupils will experiment with and plan their own sequences of increasing complexity with simple link moves. Pupils will have the change to further develop their reflective and analytical skills in upcoming units. The intention is also to expose pupils to an activity they could pursue beyond the curriculum.
