Description

This unit will develop pupils’ awareness of and ability to seek joy in lifestyle target games they can access in the community. Pupils will be supported to manage their emotions and apply mental preparation to closed skills to maximise performance.

Pupils will already have developed an appreciation of some of the target and garden games that promote social connection and potential catharsis from everyday life. They will have learnt simple ways to manage their emotions but this unit enables a deeper look into psychological approaches that help find a state of flow. Pupils can take these skills, experiences and positive attitudes towards participation into life with confidence and consequently seek fun ways to lead healthy, active lives beyond school.

  1. Grip, stance and swing basics
  2. Short game: putting and chipping
  3. Long game: full swing at the driving range
  4. Design a short course
  5. Learning to play Kubb
