Description

This unit will develop pupils’ movement competence through a variety of kata along with their emotional and spiritual development as they experience self-improvement challenges associated with martial arts and self-defence practice. Pupils will also develop their metacognition and courage.

Pupils will already have experienced a broad range of classes and fitness regimes that are widely available and popular in the local community and/ or at home. They will have learnt about physiological, psychological and socio-cultural factors connected with participation. Pupils can take these skills, experiences and positive attitudes towards participation into life with confidence and consequently lead healthy, active lives beyond school.
