Description

This unit will develop knowledge of the rules and apply a wider range of tactics and strategies through rugby. Pupils will apply attacking and defensive strategies with creativity and careful consideration of safety.

Pupils will already have explored a wider range of tactics and strategies to include dispersal, penetration, support and screening in attack whilst defensive strategies of delay, compactness, depth, balance and control/ restraint in ‘donor’ sports and scenarios but also through football so now they can transfer these (where appropriate) to the specific sport of rugby. Later in invasion games they will explore more ways to outwit in full-contact sports.
