Description

This unit explores tactics and strategies that can be transferred to a variety of world games including Kabaddi, flag and Aussie Rules football (AFL). These popular participation and spectator sports from different cultures require pupils to pick up new rules and adapt tactics to play as a team.

Pupils will already have developed ways to adapt skills, tactics and strategies from various forms of football and contact sports like rugby. This unit provides an opportunity to learn and transfer to other unfamiliar games but also to learn about socio-cultural factors that influence game design. Later in invasion games they will apply more advanced tactics and strategies in rugby and korfball.
