Description

This unit will apply a wider range of tactics and strategies through football. Increasingly complex approaches to attack and strategies to defend will be applied whilst enhancing knowledge of the rules and tactics specific to football. Pupils will also work on their organisational skills.

Pupils will already have explored a wider range of tactics and strategies to include dispersal, penetration, support and screening in attack whilst defensive strategies of delay, compactness, depth, balance and control/ restraint in ‘donor’ sports and scenarios but also through futsal so now they can apply these to the specific sport of football. Later in invasion games and other competitions they will explore ways to outwit, using advanced tactics and strategies, full-contact sports like rugby.

  1. Movement with the ball: dribbling, receiving and turning at pace
