Description

This unit develops understanding of how to best prepare our mind for competition and explores strategies like mental rehearsal, visualisation and imagery to support peak performance.

Pupils will already know that part of warming up for competition is about getting in the right psychological state for optimum performance. This unit builds on that basic understanding from key stage 3, exposure to sports participation and following elite sport in the media. Later pupils will move on to learn about the various socio-cultural influences on participation and performance.
