Description

This unit will develop pupils’ independence and team working skills through outdoor pursuits and challenges. It will challenge pupils to think about and gain competence in lifestyle pursuits that encourage engagement beyond school whilst also developing physical fitness and connection to nature.

Pupils will already have found their struggle zone with regard to continuous running and explosive power tasks as well as facing physical and intellectual challenges. They will have learnt about fitness components, training methods and target setting but now get to channel this knowledge into more authentic environments and learn more about completing challenges in small groups. Pupils can take these skills, experiences and positive attitudes towards participation into life with confidence and consequently lead healthy, active lives beyond school.
